New Structures, New Texts:  A Summit on the Library and the Press as Partners in the Enterprise of Scholarly Publishing - June 5, 2007

Welcome to the wiki for the upcoming Library/Press Summit, co-sponsored by the University of California, the University of Michigan and the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC).  We are eagerly anticipating what promises to be an important and focused discussion of the promise and challenges of collaborative publishing efforts between libraries and presses.  The meeting will include a general conversation about the current state of scholarly publishing, presentations from participants engaged in innovative collaborative publishing experiments, and short case studies of successful and not-so-successful Library-Press collaborations. The majority of the day will be dedicated to an open exchange of ideas and strategies in the service of finding new ways to pool our resources and develop solutions to our common goal of supporting scholarly research and its dissemination.
